Best Valentine's Gateaways In India

India was elected to represent South Asia on the Executive Council of UN World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), the highest policy making world tourism body represented by 150 countries. Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) has ranked India as No.1 amongst the top 50 places for 2006. The UNWTO, has noted remarkable growth of 10 per cent in South Asia as a tourist destination. India has many exotic and beautiful places to visit. So today I am going to list some of the best places to visit for your Valentine Gateaway.

Taj Mahal -- One of the most romantic place to visit on earth. Lovers can swear on this romantic beauty. The eternal symbol of love, one of the seven wonders of world the Taj Mahal is situated in Agra in Uttara Pradesh state.

Nainital -- A beautiful and green hill station located at an altitude of 6000+ feet above sea level. It is located in Uttarakhand State. Lover's Point in Nainital is the most beautiful tourist spot among honeymooners. Nainital is definitely my Valentine Gateaway destination.

Kulu Manali Simla -- Manali is the most beautiful honeymoon destination in Himachal Pradesh state. If you are tired of Gujarat's hot weather, Manali is the place to be during the Valentine's week. The place is India’s Switzerland. There are so many things to do in Manali such as Rafting, Skiing, Paragliding. The most beautiful part of Manali is the Beas River, the second easternmost of the rivers of the Punjab. Manali has the best view of Moutains and Beas River near Van Vihar.

Ladakh - You might recognize this place from the movie 3 Idiots Climax Scene. I am not sure if the climax location is Pangong Lake or Tsomoriri Lake but it is beautiful. Tsomoriri in the Changthang area is a High Altitude Lake in Ladakh, India and is the largest of the High Altitude Lakes. If you just want to forget about the whole world and lost into yourself and your partner, Ladakh is the place to go.

Ooty -- Ooty is another popular hill station located in Nilgiri Hills in Tamil Nadu state. It used to be "THE" place to go for newly weds. Several beautiful parks and lakes are here. Lovedale a quiet, undisturbed hamlet is located just a few kilometres from Ooty.

Andaman Nicobar -- a group of 572 Islands & islets spread over like a broken pearl chain in Bay of Bengal covering an area of 8249 sq.km. Andaman is graded as one of the ideal destination for availing leave travel concession to cover a long distance journey. Some of the attractions are Neil Island, Samudrika, Mayabunder, Car Nicobar, Jolly Buoy, Havelock Island etc. You can reach to Andaman Nicobar by either Air or Sea from Kolkata, Chennai or Vishakhapattnam.

Lakshadweep -- Lakshadweep is the smallest union territory of India, is a group of islands 200 to 300 km off of the coast of Keralam in the Laccadive Sea. You can visit Lakshadweep by Air or Sea. Pune/Goa -- Goa is the perfect place for honeymoonGoa ensures development of a special bond between couples. Goa is a perfect tourist spot all through the year. Beach resorts and hotels make the perfect accommodation options for honeymoon in Goa.

Darjiling - Located at a height of 2134 meters above the sea level, Darjeeling steeped in aromas of fresh hill tea lies at a distance of 686 kilometers from Kolkata India. You can enjoy your first, second, third, fourth... honeymoons in romantic Darjeeling as you tour the glassy Senchal Lake, Happy Valley Tea Estate, Lloyd's Botanical Gardens and the captivating Lebona Race Course.

Kerala -- How can you forget Kerala. The main attraction in Kerala is backwater houseboat. Kettuvallam (houseboat) is made of wood without using a single nail. The cruise through the backwaters of waters of Kerala, visit simple villages to see the products made by the local artisans, paddy fields, temples, beaches etc till sunset.
