Music crazy fans can now have their option of staying updated about their favorite bands and know how close their band is going to be around them. AOL, an American global internet services and media operated by Time Warner launched a new website named Tour Tracker which will provide free information as to who’s on the road ,how they can be located and when they are going to hit the town near you. It’s a boon especially for those whose taste for music is spread across jazz, rock and many other musical forms.

Fans can get to know the summary of the latest music tours their bands or artists and about their latest concert to be held along with the venue and other details. Users of his site can view all the recent shows by their bands, upcoming events in next few days, what has been the popularity of the shows performed and also the direction to reach a particular concert of their band with the help of MapQuest powered maps. Thus a die hard music fan can now have no reasons to miss the live concerts of their favorite band or artist. If a fan intends to book his place for a show he can easily do it by purchasing tickets for the live concert. Booking tickets through an American Express card can bring in some lucrative discount offers too.

Some of the highlights of the site are searching a particular band on the basis of it name, type of music played, venue or any desired date. It also allows viewing the hottest artists and tours. Extensive concert listings including indie bands and smaller venues and theaters can also be viewed. Users can also view the videos, photos, songs, lyrics and latest news of their artists and bands.

Apart from keeping its fans aware, this site also offers people to comment and rate a particular performance of a band or artist which in turn can be used to rate that band or artist and thus easing up the evaluation on the basis of popularity and reputation. Thus it provides the industry executives to monitor the popularity of artists and bands and thus accordingly maximize their profits.

The data for the site is provided by JamBase, American Express is sponsoring the launch with ticket discounts. AOL’s music network of sites includes Spinner, Popeater and theboombox. It has already attracted 563 million page views and 22.2 unique visitors in June, up by 90% and 49% respectively. Thus it has been rated as the top music destination site on the web.
