If you think that India is behind in e-commerce, you are mistaking. The Indian internet user spent $2,066 on an average during the last 12 months buying goods and services on the Net, according to a six-nation study done by payment solutions player Visa.
There were some interesting facts about Indian Internet users spending pattern..
Eighty per cent of the Indian respondents said they favoured using the internet due to the convenience factor with an equal number citing ease of payment.
Close to 57% of the Indians surveyed had shopped both locally and on foreign e-commerce sites. While paying for music downloads remained the most popular online purchase in the Asia-Pacific region, close to 22% of the Indian spends happened for purchase of airline tickets with the average purchase being pegged at about $700.
The research indicated that the top three travel-related issues were airline/airline tickets ($700), online travel agents ($361) and travel accommodation ($253).
