I think last week reliance announced Rs 1.99/minute calls to USA and Canada and today Bharti Airtel followed the path.

Bharti Airtel on Monday announced a 39 per cent reduction in International long distance tariffs (ISD) to the United States and Canada.

The reduces rates will apply from Tuesday. This would enable users to make calls to USA and Canada at Rs 1.99 per minute. This offer will be available only to customers who are currently using Bharti Airtel's STD and ISD calling card or Rs 2,245. Reliance customers also has the Rs 1.99/minute call offer but only with Rs 1900 global calling card.

Huh!! This is what you call a customer's market. Way to go. Now I can not give excuses to my friends abroad about "its expensive to call to USA" anymore. :-)
