You can take a look at the picture above. Its the same interface as you would see for Google USA or UK or Australia.

So then I clicked on one of the marker and what I saw was not the regular business details but a link to Google Earth community forum.

So after visiting that URL I found out that, these are the markers provided by Google Earth community. Google is fetching those latitude, longitude information from Google Earth and when you do the search, it plots them on the map.

Its pretty interesting as Google will get all these information from the user. Google is building its database from users. Even though currently google doesn't have local business' detail information, in future it might pull those details as well.

So if you compare Yahoo local and Google local for India, you would find that Google has more local business information as those data are provided by users.

Check it out if you can find the local business near you on google maps or not.
