So now Reliance is taking onto those VoIP startups and internet phone companies. Reliance Globalcom, a division of Reliance Communications Limited has recently launched a new product called Reliance iCall in Beta version. Reliance iCall is a computer application just like that will let you make free and cheap international calls to all over the world.
This application which they call it a softphone can be downloaded on to one's computer. Once the application is installed, it will let you make calls, receive calls and has features like Call hold, caller ID, call waiting, phonebook, personal conferencing and missed call alerts etc.
I tried to register with the website and stupid page didn't accept my information so I guess I will have to re-register. Currently Reliance iCall is offering free calls to USA, UK, Canada, Germany, France, Australia, Singapore, Japan and Brazil. This free calling offer is available till Jan 15th 2009.
So if you want to make free calls from India to above countries, you might want to register with Reliance iCall and start making free international calls.

|2010-02-16 03:00:59 Ashvin - Problems with Reliance serviceI ordered relianceicall service two months ago to call India. To date (mid
February) I have been unable to make a single call. No matter what number I try
to call in India, I get a message: This call is blocked.
At first, customer service ignored my pleas for help. When I threatened to
report them to the FCC, they responded saying they are looking into the problem.
No luck so far.
I have been trying to finish off my credit calling the UK and US. These calls
work, but connection quality is poor (echoes, call drops, etc.). In the
meantime I have tried two other services - Mywebcalls.com and nymgo.com - both
excellent. Give reliance a miss.
