Information Madness

Indian is a great country and is pretty famous for its intelligent population. India is an IT hub right now and most of the outsourced projects from all over the world are coming to India. However, when it comes to entrepreneurship, I don't see any great potential here. I have been following Indian IT world for the last one year because of this blog and realized that there is not a single startup that has a potential to go global. Most of the startups I have seen are either the famous website's clones or doesn't stand upto its potential. TringMe was the only startup that created a buzz in the begining.

I know I might be offending so many aspiring entrepreneurs in India right now. There are many blogs out there who talks about startups in India, giving advices on startups, throwing parties for entrepreneurs and venture capitalists but at the end of the day, it is all back to the square. Why am I writing all these right now?

I just saw this article at CNet which talks about 5 international social networks to keep an eye on. India is not in the list. It is not only about social networking sites but a startup in general.

With over one billion population, why can't we come up with a new idea? Why can't we create a next Google or Yahoo or Microsoft or Facebook or Orkut.
