BookMyShow, the site which allows users to book movie tickets online in India has recently launched handful of application for its users to make movie ticket booking more interactive and fun.

The first naughty application is Faltoo Flicks for Facebook. The application lets you make fun with your friends by giving them virtual tickets for one of those B-grade movies. You pick the B-grade movie, choose the virtual theater, select the date and select the friend for whom you book the ticket. Now your friend will receive notification about this movie show.

Why “bad” films? Ashish Hemrajani, chief executive officer, BigTree Entertainment, says, “Everybody talks about popular films, but nobody writes about movies that are bad. So we thought of giving viewers a platform to fret about bad movies and see what they say about them!” The Faltoo Flicks page features about 70 such movies.

BookMyShow also launched its gadgets for iGoogle, Google Desktop and Yahoo Desktop. You can get updated information about the latest movies, plays, concert and its timings in your city.

BookMyShow also launched its mobile application called "B-Mobile" which lets you access the latest movies, plays and concerts information right on your mobile. You can also book your movie tickets via your mobile using B-Mobile. You can download this mobile application via SMS "BMS" to 52622 or by registering your mobile number at BookMyShow website or by pointing your browser to BookMyShow Mobile website.

I haven't tried the mobile application yet, but looks like it doesn't support BlackBerry & CDMA handsets. That sucks. It supports handsets with a screen resolution of 128x160 & above. I don't get it why they left CDMA handsets though. If you are launching mobile application, you should provide compatibility for all the phones or wait for the moment when you have compatibility for all the phone and then launch the application.

  8) I tried Bookmyshow's mobile application & realized life has become so
  convenient...I booked my tickets on my way to the cinema & before I could reach
  the cinema i.e. next door my tickets were already booked..I also got a chance to
  select the seats I preferred...I am totally hooked up to this app... I give it
  8/10...
