After flooding the Social Networking sites, now India is going towards Career & Professional Networking sites. Recently I wrote about Brijj.com which was launched by Naukri group.
Now we have three more players LinkedZone, EyeMany & ApnaCircle (recently launched by Sabeer Bhatia & Yogesh Bansal)
If we are talking about Career Networking, how can we forget TechTribe.com. TechTribe is a networking site specifically for tech professionals, college students and software developers based in India. Currently they are giving away 1 iPhone to their users. The 1 iPhone will go to whoever extends the most accepted invitations to techTribe
Lets talk about LinkedZone.com
The site is registered on the Name of Mohit Bhatia, New Delhi and was registered in December 2006. I was not able to find any press release about this website's launch but somebody mentioned about
this on WebYantra.net back in May. The site doesn't allow you to surf through its features without registering to the site. That is ridiculous. Being an end user, I would love to go through its features first before I register. They should allow users to just find out who are the members of the site. If I find my friends or collegues, I would love to register myself. once I register and don't find anyone I know, what's the point. But thats just my thinking.
Now EyeMany.com
Site launched in early August. Compared to LinkedZone.com, EyeMany.com allows to see alteast few entries of its members, member's blogs and some Q&A before registering to their website. I think thats is a plus point for them as I was able to see what exactly they are talking about before registering to their website. They have combined the networking features with "Answers" feature. Another thing I liked about this site is video resumes. Not the concept of video resumes but the feature of creating your video resume using your webcam and upload it on the website. This is a good feature for those who doesn't have camcoders.
Now ApnaCircle.com
Except the big name associated with this site (Sabeer Bhatia), I don't think this site has anything exceptional to offer compared other sites in this niche. IndianWeb2.0 has detail review about this website
